Tiffany Ownbey’s paper-mache sculptures are made primarily of found or discarded paper and pieces of “things.”
Using starch and various papers, she covers dolls, mannequin parts, plastic bowls, inflatable bunnies and anything that has an interesting shape. Once dried, the paper is removed from the object and reassembled to create a hollow form. These forms are then combined with a wooden armature, pieces of toys, games and other found things to create a figure. Each figure is unique and has a personality of its own.
