Own Art. Be Happy. This is the mantra of The Laughing Dog Gallery and its Top Dog, Susie Wilber. Her background and experience lend undeniable credibility to her mission to provide the highest quality American made art in a fun gallery atmosphere. Susie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Smith College and a Master of Science in Architectural Design from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Susie’s work began in the architectural field and she subsequently became an architectural illustrator. She has completed numerous commercial and residential projects, several having received national publication.

After achieving notable success in New England, Susie decided it was time to trade in her snow boots for flip-flops, and relocated to Florida. She became a licensed interior designer, which proved ideal when she and her husband, Jeff, opened the doors of The Laughing Dog Gallery in Vero Beach in 2000.

The gallery has consistently won awards for its collection of fine American Craft, and was named the “#1 American Craft Retailer of the Year” by Niche Magazine in 2007. The gallery has consistently been ranked among the top 25 galleries in the nation for the past three years. Susie has also juried prestigious national art competitions, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show and the Niche Awards.

Susie truly believes when great ideas come to the minds of gifted artists, wonderful things can happen. At The Laughing Dog Gallery , we celebrate creativity in many ways: by showcasing works by both emerging and acclaimed artists, by offering an eclectic selection that can be enjoyed by beginning collectors or experienced art hounds, and by providing our customers with true expertise and outrageously good service.

Susie takes great pride in offering unique décor, including American-made glass, hand-crafted jewelry, and American-made furniture by the most talented American artists. If you haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing it for yourself, we invite you to visit The Laughing Dog Gallery or stop by our store along Vero Beach’s beautiful barrier island where you can meet the Top Dog herself.
