Gerald Patterson creates each piece in a private studio located in the northern Colorado mountains. He blows contemporary glass using traditional tools combined with both traditional and non-traditional techniques. Much of his artwork is performed solo in the tradition of the forefathers of the early American small studio movement; this movement remains the root of his style of work.

Patterson is heavily influenced by the countless hours he spends immersed in nature; he lives and spends his time in the high mountains of northern Colorado where light, water, wind-sculptured snow, vegetation, and abundant wildlife evoke emotion and feeling. “The organic feel is then crystallized in the ever-evolving work that I create.”
