Emi Ozawa creates sculptural objects and toys primarily in wood. By combining geometric shapes, bright colors and moving parts, she evokes the simple pleasure of playing with an object. Ozawa received Honorable Mention Award from the American Craft Council in Baltimore, contributed an ornament to the White House Christmas tree in 1996 an exhibits nationally and internationally.

Originally from Japan, she earned an MFA degree in Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design where she later taught, and now works out of her studio in New Mexico.
